Before you start playing Blackjack for real money, you really need to read the tips below so that you can have the upper hand on your competition. A lot of people just jump right into a game, without really knowing the secrets of the game, which can turn out to be very costly. Below will be some tips that will help you to play at your best, hopefully win a ton of money, and have a great time.
First of all, look for the game with the lowest house advantage. Different blackjack variations have rules that can greatly effect the house edge.
Never take insurance. Card counters take insurance when they know the ratio of face cards in the deck make it a good bet, but in online casinos they shuffle the cards after every hand. Insurance - Just say No!
Never Split two 5s or 10s. You have much better chances at winning with the total of twenty that you already have.
Always Split Aces and 8’s (no matter what dealer's card is showing), you will have a good chance of coming up a winner when you split these cards.
Double Down if your two card combinations total up to the following: 9 if the dealer has a 3,4,5 or 6 showing; 10 if the dealers card up is anything but a 10 value card or an Ace; 11 if the dealer has anything but an Ace.
There are some times when you should ALWAYS stand and when you should ALWAYS hit below are some of those times. The rest you will find in our basic strategy tables for each game.
Always stand on a hard 17 or higher no matter what the dealer is showing.
Always stand on a hard 13, 14, 15, and 16 if the dealer has a 6 or lower showing.
If the dealer is showing a 4, 5 or 6 always stand on a hard 12.
Always hit until you have at least a 17 if the dealer is showing a 7, 8, 9, or 10.
Hit a soft 17 (a hand that adds up to 17 that includes an Ace) if the dealer has a 10 showing in their hand.
Since we all know that you can’t bust on a soft hand with one hit always do the following: hit a soft 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17 if the dealer has 7 or higher.
Hit a soft 18 if the dealer has a 9, 10 or an Ace showing.
Stand of the soft 18 if the dealer is showing a 2, 7 or an 8 and double down if the dealer shows a 3, 4, 5, or 6.
These are a few of the tips that you can use while you are playing, there are many more but these are a great starting point for you. Using the tips laid out for you above will greatly improve your skill and hopefully the outcome of your game, study them well and have a great time playing.
